As a mother and cyber warrior, Rianette is on a mission to share the Cyber Wellness message to ensure that families and companies understand both the risks and opportunities presented by the internet and social media. She founded SaveTNet Cyber Safety after she heard of the shocking statistics of young people who commit suicide because of cyberbullying and has been the driving force behind SaveTNet, which offers help to cybercrime victims through a NETwork of relevant professionals.
Her books and writing she empower parents to have cyber safety conversations and to ensure that families become more responsible digital citizens. Rianette is featured in the international documentary film titled “Public Figure”, which puts the spotlight on the pressure and pitfalls of social media.
Rianette speaks at schools, churches, companies and conferences and has played a significant role in the development of cyber safety toolkits for schools and corporate cyber wellness programmes for companies.
As a speaker she has spoken to global audiences like the Global Leadership Summit, Campus Party International, TEDx and the US based Executive Women’s Forum.
She is a regular contributor and published in the media such as FINESSE Magazine, Baby Yum Yum online and MiniMag. Her Cyber Health feature ran for two years at CliffCentral.com where she presented a weekly podcast.
She has been interviewed on numerous platforms and a variety of media – from eNCA, Radio 702, Newzroom Africa, Business Day TV, FAIRLADY Magazine, BRAINSTORM Magazine and more.
Brand South Africa acknowledged her work and selected Rianette as a PLAY YOUR PART Ambassador. She was selected as a finalist for the FAIRLADY & Santam Social Entrepreneur, Women of the Future 2018 Award and she was chosen as the 1st Runner-Up for the GovTech SITA Women in ICT Awards 2016. In 2020 Rianette was nominated for the Women of Influence Award through the American organisation for women in cyber security, the Executive Women’s Forum. Also chosen as the Woman of Wonder Panache Gauteng 2020 Award.
